Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be at the center of the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show 2020 in Las Vegas, with exhibitors from all industries unveiling AI solutions, says Consumer Technology Association President and CEO Gary Shapiro .

LOS ANGELES, Jan.5 (Xinhua) – Artificial intelligence (AI) will be at the center of the next Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020, Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), said in a statement. exclusive interview with Xinhua.

CES 2020 will be held Jan. 7-10 in Las Vegas, with more than 4,500 exhibitors launching nearly 20,000 new processing technology products to more than 170,000 attendees, according to CTA, the show’s organizer.

“The show’s trends will include the latest in 5G and mobile connectivity, automotive technology, smart cities and digital health,” Shapiro said.

AI will be at the center of the show and throughout 2020, with companies from all industries unveiling AI solutions, he noted. “AI will be one of the key ‘ingredient technologies’ over the next decade, creating personalized user experiences and machine learning solutions in smart cities, sports technology, automotive technology, healthcare digital, robotics and beyond. “

The AI ​​and robotics category has grown this year by over 30% in number of exhibitors and over 25% in exhibition space during CES 2019. The dedicated AI marketplace will feature more than 70 exhibitors, while companies from all industries will unveil Advances in AI at CES 2020, according to Shapiro.

He expected new innovations in sectors such as vehicle technology, travel, transportation and health technology at this year’s show.

Calling electric vehicles a major trend, Shapiro said the show will feature 10 automakers, including two electric vehicle manufacturers – Byton and Fisker.

The new Travel & Tourism Marketplace will spotlight the latest technologies revolutionizing the consumer travel experience, he said, adding that Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian will deliver a keynote address, the first of his an airline in the lounge.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao will also deliver remarks at CES 2020 to share new initiatives for the industry to help improve public safety, according to Shapiro.

“With advancements in digital therapy, wearable devices, remote patient monitoring and more, digital health innovations at CES 2020 will address real-world issues such as opioid addiction, mental illness and chronic disease, ”Shapiro said.

This year, the health and wellness category will have 145 exhibitors, an increase of 25% compared to 2019.

According to Shapiro, major Chinese companies including Byton, Changhong, DJI, Haier, Hisense, Huawei, Konka, Lenovo, Segway, TCL and ZTE are returning to CES 2020.

“Chinese companies are more and more innovative,” he said.

CES 2020 will feature new and expanded exhibition areas, 300 conference sessions with 1,100 speakers and more than 1,200 startups from over 45 countries. Some 1,550 new exhibitors will join the show this year, according to CTA. â–
